Dr Heather Wood is a clinical psychologist, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with the British Association of Psychotherapists, and a practitioner and supervisor of Cognitive Analytic Therapy. She has worked in the NHS for over 25 years, mostly in the field of adult mental health, and more recently at the Portman Clinic, Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, in the field of forensic psychotherapy. She has a special interest in the psychoanalytic treatment of compulsive use of internet pornography and other forms of "virtual sex", and has written on this subject in a recently published book, Sex, Mind and Emotion (J.Hiller, H.Wood and W.Bolton (Eds), 2006, London: Karnac Books).
